Dr Mabrouk KRAIEM, the current Acting Director of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, visited His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Mali, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al-Sunaidi, on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the embassy of Qatar in Bamako. This visit comes within the framework of efforts to complete signing of an MoU proposed by the Qatari Ministry of Culture, in line with the Resolution No. 5 issued by the Fourth Africa-Arab Summit in Malabo in November 2016, which calls upon the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute to intensify its contacts with member states of the League of Arab States and the African Union and their relevant cultural institutions to promote its work and build partnerships.

The Acting Director an overview presented of the Institute, its objectives, the decisions that led to its establishment, and its activities and programs for 2025. He also appreciated the Qatari Ministry of Culture’s response to the Institute’s request to propose a draft MoU to be signed with the Institute, which would serve as a framework for joint cooperation between the two parties to implement certain cultural activities.

During this meeting, a letter was submitted to His Excellency the Ambassador to kindly forward it to His Excellency the Qatari Minister of Culture pertaining to signing the proposed MoU by the Ministry and hosting of one of the Institute activities for 2025.

His Excellency the Ambassador commended the visit and underscored the Institute’s objectives and activities for 2025. He also pledged to expedite the procedures for signing the MoU between the Ministry and the Institute as soon as possible, to serve as a legal framework for the joint implementation of some of its activities.
