Africa-Arab Cultural Institute

[:en]His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, received Dr. Mohamed Salem SOUFI, Director General of the Institute, at the African Union Headquarters on June 17, 2022 in Addis Ababa. The meeting brought together four assistants to the President of the AU, and after words of courtesy, the Director-General presented the difficulties that are hampering the progress of the Institute and the examination of ways and means to iron out these challenges for the implementation of the major projects of the Institute on hold.

In his response to the problems presented by the Institute, His Excellency expressed his commitment to seek to overcome the obstacles facing the Institute.[:fr]Son Excellence M. Moussa Faki, Président de la Commission de l’Union africaine, a reçu le Dr Mohamed Salem SOUFI, Directeur général de l’Institut, au siège de l’Union africaine le 17 juin 2022 à Addis-Abeba. La rencontre a réuni quatre assistants du Président de l’UA, et après des mots de courtoisie, le Directeur général a présenté les difficultés qui buttent la marche l’Institut et l’examen des voies et moyen pour aplanir ces défis pour la concrétisation des projets majeurs de l’Institut en souffrance.

Dans sa réponse aux problèmes présentés par l’Institut, Son Excellence a exprimé son engagement à oeuvre pour surmonter les obstacles auxquels fait face l’Institut.[:ar]

استقبل معالي السيد موسى فقي رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الافريقي الدكتور محمد سالم الصوفي، المدير العام للمعهد، بمقر الاتحاد الإفريقي يوم 17/06/2022 بأديس أبابا. وضم الاجتماع أربعة من معاونيه وبعد كلمات المجاملة طرح المدير العام الصعوبات التي تواجهه المعهد وسبل دراسة تنفيذ مشاريعه الكبرى المتأثرة. وفي رده على المشاكل التي عرضه المعهد، عبر معاليه عن التزامه  السعي لتذليل العقبات التي تعترض مسيرة المعهد.

[:en]The Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development of the African Union Commissioner, Dr Amira ElFadil, received in a meeting, the Ambassador Dr Mohamed Salem Soufi, Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, on Monday July 5, 2021. Ms. Angela Martins, Head of Culture Department of the African Union Commission and Ambassador ElHafiz Eisa Abdallah, Special Assistant to the Commissioner also took part in this meeting.

The meeting focused on the roadmap of the African Union for this year and the activities that will be organised by the Institute, as well as the Institute’s participation in the activities that will be organised by the African Union within the framework of the celebration of its theme for this year: “Arts, Culture and Heritage: levers to build the Africa we want”, including the launch of the African Languages ​​Week to be held in Dakar at the end of this month, the workshop for the restitution of stolen works of art and the virtual conference of African Ministers in charge of arts, culture and heritage, scheduled for next October. For his part, the Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute invited the African Union to participate in its activities scheduled for the coming months.[:fr]La Commissaire à la Santé, aux Affaires Humanitaires et au Développement Social de la Commission de l’Union africaine, le Dr Amira ElFadil, a reçu en audience l’Ambassadeur Dr Mohamed Salem Soufi, Directeur général de l’Institut culturel afro-arabe, lundi le 5 juillet 2021. Ont aussi part à la réunion, Mme Angela Martins, Chef du Département Culture de la Commission de l’Union Africaine et l’Ambassadeur ElHafiz Eisa Abdallah, Assistant spécial de la Commissaire.

La réunion a porté sur la feuille de route de l’Union africaine pour cette année et les activités qui seront organisées par l’Institut, ainsi que la participation de l’Institut aux activités qui seront organisées par l’Union africaine dans le cadre de la célébration de son thème pour cette année : « Arts, Culture et Patrimoine : leviers pour construire l’Afrique que nous voulons », notamment le lancement de la Semaine des langues africaines qui se tiendra à Dakar à la fin de ce mois, l’atelier pour la restitution des œuvres d’art volées et la conférence virtuelle des Ministres africains en charge des arts, de la culture et du patrimoine, prévue en octobre prochain.

Pour sa part, le Directeur général de l’Institut culturel afro-arabe a invité l’Union africaine à participer à ses activités programmées dans les prochains mois.[:ar]

استقبلت يوم الاثنين 5 يوليو 2021م الدكتورة أميرة الفاضل، مفوضة الصحة والشؤون الإنسانية والتنمية الاجتماعية بالاتحاد الإفريقي، السفير الدكتور محمد سالم الصوفي، المدير العام للمعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي. وشارك في هذا الاجتماع إلى جانب المفوضة كل من السيدة أنجيلا مارتنز، رئيسة قسم الثقافة بالاتحاد الإفريقي والسفير الحافظ عيسى عبد الله، المساعد الخاص للمفوضة.

 وتناول الاجتماع خارطة طريق الاتحاد الإفريقي لهذه السنة والتباحث حول الفعاليات التي سينظمها المعهد، وتم التباحث أيضا حول مشاركة المعهد في الأنشطة التي سيقيمها الاتحاد الإفريقي ضمن الاحتفاء بشعاره لهذا العام: “التراث والثقافة والفنون: رافعات لبناء إفريقيا التي نريد” وبالأخص انطلاق أسبوع اللغات الافريقية الذي سيقام في دكار في نهاية الشهر الجاري وورشة استرداد الممتلكات الأثرية المسروقة والمؤتمر الافتراضي للوزراء الأفارقة المكلفين بالفنون والثقافة والتراث في شهر أكتوبر القادم.

ومن جانبه، وجه المدير العام للمعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي الدعوة للاتحاد الإفريقي للمشاركة في نشاطاته المقررة في الشهور القادمة.

[:en]The Africa-Arab Cultural Institute (ICAA) and the University of the Sahel in Bamako signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the premises of the Institute located in the Cité du Niger.

This MoU was signed by the Deputy Director General of ICAA, Dr Mahamat Adoum Koulbou and the Director of the University of the Sahel, Dr Saïd Mohamed Baba SYLLA.

On this occasion, the Director of the University of the Sahel extended his warm thanks to the Institute for this long-awaited noble initiative as part of the joint efforts to carry out projects of common interest, particularly in the field of scientific research, education and culture.

On the other hand, the Deputy Director General of the ICAA, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to his host for gracing the signing ceremony with his presence, seen as a way to consolidate the partnership with higher education institutions, study and research centres as well as organisations working in the field of culture in member states of the African Union and the League of Arab States.[:fr]L’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe (ICAA) et l’Université du Sahel à Bamako ont procédé à la signature d’un accord de coopération, le mercredi 24 mars 2021, dans les locaux de l’Institut sis à la Cité du Niger.

Cet accord a été signé par le Directeur Général Adjoint de l’ICAA, Dr Mahamat Adoum Koulbou et le Directeur de l’Université du Sahel, Dr Saïd Mohamed Baba SYLLA.

À cette occasion, le Directeur de l’Université du Sahel a adressé ses vifs remerciements à l’Institut pour cette noble initiative tant attendue dans le cadre de la mutualisation des efforts permettant de réaliser de projets d’intérêt commun notamment dans le domaine de la recherche scientifique, de l’enseignement et de la culture.

De son côté, le Directeur Général Adjoint de l’ICAA, a exprimé sa gratitude et sa reconnaissance à son hôte pour avoir honoré de sa présence la cérémonie de signature de cet accord qui s’inscrit dans le cadre de la consolidation des liens de partenariat avec les institutions de l’enseignement supérieur, les centres d’études et de recherches ainsi que les organisations œuvrant dans le domaine de la culture dans les pays membres de l’Union Africaine et de la Ligue des États Arabes.[:ar]

وقع المعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي وجامعة الساحل في باماكو مذكرة تفاهم يوم الأربعاء 24 مارس 2021 في مقر المعهد الواقع في حي النيجر.

وقع مذكرة التفاهم من جانب المعهد نائب المدير العام ، الدكتور محمد آدم كلبو، ومن جانب جامعة الساحل مديرها الدكتور سعيد محمد بابا سيلا.

وبهذه المناسبة ، أعرب مدير جامعة الساحل عن شكره للمعهد على هذه المبادرة النبيلة التي طال انتظارها في إطار الجهود المشتركة لتنفيذ مشاريع ذات الاهتمام المشترك ، لا سيما في مجال البحث العلمي والتعليم والثقافة.

من جهة أخرى، أعرب نائب المدير العام الهيئة للمعهد عن تقديره وامتنانه لضيفه على تشريف حفل بحضوره لتوقيع المذكرة والتي تعتبر وسيلة لترسيخ الشراكة مع مؤسسات التعليم العالي ومراكز الدراسة والبحث وكذلك المنظمات العاملة في مجال الثقافة في الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأفريقي وجامعة الدول العربية.

[:en]On February 11, 2012, Dr. Mahamat Adoum Koulbou, the Deputy Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, was received by HE Moussa Faki, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, in Addis-Ababa. During this meeting, the Deputy congratulated His Excellency on behalf of the Director General and the Institute’s staff on the occasion of his reelection for the second term at the head of the African Union. He also leveraged this opportunity to wish His Excellency all success to accomplish his duties and presented the Institute’s sincere thanks for the constant support of the African Union of the Institute in implementing its programs and projects designed to strengthening Africa-Arab relations.[:fr]Dr Mahamat Adoum Koulbou, Directeur Général Adjoint de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe, a été reçu, le 11 février 2012, par SE Moussa Faki, Président de la Commission de l’Union Africaine, à Addis-Abeba. A, au cours de cette rencontre, le Directeur général adjoint a félicité Son Excellence au nom du Directeur général et du personnel de l’Institut à l’occasion de sa réélection pour un second mandat à la tête de l’Union africaine. Il a également profité de cette occasion pour souhaiter à Son Excellence plein succès dans l’accomplissement de ses tâches et a présenté les sincères remerciements de l’Institut pour le soutien constant de l’Union africaine de l’Institut dans la mise en œuvre de ses programmes et projets visant à renforcer les relations afro-arabes.[:ar]

يوم ١١ فبراير ٢٠١٢، قام الدكتور محمد آدم كلبو، نائب المدير العام للمعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي بزيارة إلى مقر معالي موسى فكي، رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي باديس ابابا لتقديم التهاني والتبريكات باسم المدير العام والعاملين بالمعهد بمناسبة انتخابه لولاية ثانية على رأس الاتحاد الإفريقي، وتمنى له المزيد من التوفيق والسداد في إنجاز مهامه وقدم له شكره الخالص على دعمه للمعهد في تنفيذ برامجه ومشروعاته الهادفة إلى تعزيز العلاقات الإفريقية العربية.
